Linde’s NITROBOOST supplemental refrigeration technology uses indirect cooling of air inside a mechanical freezer with liquid nitrogen heat exchangers without ever releasing the nitrogen inside the freezer. Designed for seamless integration with existing freezers, the Linde add-on system boosts refrigeration capacity on demand to ensure efficient, reliable performance without costly freezer expansions.

Liquid nitrogen is significantly colder than traditional industrial refrigerants, enabling rapid and efficient heat removal in a compact footprint. The nitrogen heat exchanger coils are up to 75% smaller than ammonia-based evaporator coils. This compact design allows the NITROBOOST system to integrate on top of existing freezers. The NITROBOOST system is suited to most frozen products, including baked goods, meat, poultry, seafood and produce.
