In the spirit of fostering creativity and pushing the boundaries of foodservice equipment design, New Age Industrial proudly announces the kick-off of the NAFEM 2025 Custom Product Design Contest!

“We are excited to kick off the NAFEM 2025 Custom Foodservice Equipment Design Contest and invite our manufacturer’s representatives to participate,” said Cathy O’Shia, VP of Foodservice Sales at New Age Industrial. “The 2023 contest was a success, and we’re looking forward to seeing even more creative ideas this year. This is a great opportunity for reps to partner with dealers, distributors, consultants, or end users to design a product that can make a real difference in the foodservice industry.”

The 2023 NAFEM Custom Equipment Design Contest brought us the Scrap and Stack. Claudia Harry from the Hansen Group and Alyssia Wright from Fulton County Schools designed a multi-function, line-scrapping cart. They wanted to design a solution that would allow school cafeteria workers to clear the service line more efficiently. The solution they developed in partnership with New Age Industrial’s engineer, Phil Gottstine, is a cart that has a removable trash receptacle on the base, a top with a solid sheet and punched large square hole for scraping food waste into the trashcan, and a rack on the top to hold dirty steamtable pans and sheet pans. The Scrap and Stack allows for an entire line to be cleared in one pass, making just one trip to the dish room.

Jeff Erber, Regional Foodservice Sales Manager at New Age Industrial said, “We are excited for the NAFEM Show 2025 and looking forward to seeing all the creative new ideas that solve our customer’s problems.” He added, “We’re inviting all New Age Industrial Foodservice Manufacturer’s Reps to partner with dealers, distributors, consultants, and/or end users to participate in the NAFEM 2025 New Custom Product Design Contest. Working together, we can leave a mark on the foodservice industry!”

The winning team will have the opportunity to brag over their creation as we unveil it at NAFEM 2025 with their hotel room, airfare, a show badge, and a ticket to the NAFEM closing party and concert covered by us. In addition, the winning rep will receive a $500 cash prize! Plus, their name and rep group will be included in a slew of promotional advertising.

Any New Age Industrial Foodservice Manufacturer’s Representative can participate with a distributor, director, consultant, or dealer partner. Reps can submit as many entries as they would like. All products designed will be owned by New Age Industrial. Rep and partner will not receive any compensation or royalties for this product once it is manufactured and goes into our system as an active product. This product may be marketed, advertised, and sold only by New Age Industrial. Entry must be an original design to solve an ongoing foodservice problem.

To submit entries or for more information about the contest, visit the NAFEM 2025 Custom Product Design Contest page. Winning design will be chosen by September 2, 2024. Once drawings are approved, we will begin production for display in our booth at the NAFEM Show, February 26-28, 2025.
