Summit Media Groupā€™s Greener Package and the American Institute of Chemical Engineersā€™ (AIChEā€™s) Institute for Sustainabilityā€”producers of Sustainable Packaging Symposium 2011 and 2012ā€”are again combining forces to produce a new, one-day event focused on cutting-edge issues in Waste-to-Energy (WTE). The Waste-to-Energy Exchange, scheduled for Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at the New York Institute of Technologyā€™s Auditorium on Broadway in New York City, will include presentations from industry and academic experts on the potential impact of WTE processes.

WTE is one of the most controversial topics in the sustainable packaging environment, yet it is beginning to be recognized as an alternative approach to renewable energy. During the event, which will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., presenters will discuss:

ā€¢ The sources of waste for WTE and opportunities for packagers

ā€¢ Obstacles and hurdles to WTE implementation and infrastructure
