Vacuum Barrier Corporation, an expert in the design, engineering, and fabrication of liquid nitrogen dosing and piping systems, will showcase its advances in liquid nitrogen (LN2) dosing technology at PACK EXPO, October 18-21 in Chicago. At Booth S-4243, the company will demonstrate its NITRODOSE® G3 SERVODOSER® and NITRODOSE® Aseptic LN2 Dosing System, highlighting technologies designed to meet the speed, precision, flexibility and reliability demands of modern beverage and aseptic packaging lines.

Unlike traditional mechanical actuation or fixed pneumatic systems, servo-controlled dosing uses electronic motion control to enable precise, software-based adjustments to the dosing process. VBC was the first to incorporate servo technology into LN2 dosing systems, pioneering an approach that enables precise, software-based control of liquid nitrogen flow rates and valve stroke. By eliminating the requirement for physical nozzle changes, servo technology gives manufacturers greater flexibility in managing different container formats, fill volumes and production requirements.

For high-speed beverage applications, these capabilities translate into precise, repeatable dosing at production rates of up to 2,000 containers per minute (CPM), while also simplifying changeovers. Instead of making physical adjustments to the dosing system, manufacturers can change dosing parameters by HMI recipe settings when switching between lightweight PET bottles, aluminum cans, or different fill volumes.

VBC’s NITRODOSE® G3 SERVODOSER® brings these servo-driven capabilities together in a system designed specifically for fast, precise delivery of low-pressure liquid nitrogen in beverage applications. The system allows manufacturers to adjust dosing to changing production requirements without physical nozzle changes or extended changeover times. Its long-life servo actuator is engineered to withstand billions of cycles, supporting reliable performance over extended periods of high-volume production. It is particularly suited to non-carbonated beverages packaged in lightweight plastic bottles or aluminum cans, where liquid nitrogen adds rigidity to enhance structural integrity and durability.

Equipped with a seven-inch color touchscreen for intuitive operation, the NITRODOSE® G3 SERVODOSER® can deliver dosing durations as brief as 4 milliseconds and offers an accuracy of approximately +/-1% of dose weight.

The system also offers Clean in Place (CIP) protection, with an automatic cover that prevents moisture from entering the dosing head during the process, eliminating potential freeze-ups. The nozzle is designed to withstand high-pressure washdowns or harsh chemical cleanups.

Also on display at PACK EXPO International 2026, VBC’s NITRODOSE® Aseptic LN2 Dosing System precisely delivers sterile, low-pressure liquid nitrogen for aseptic filling lines at speeds of up to 2,000+ containers per minute. Designed for demanding aseptic applications, the system features steam sterilization, Smartsync technology for automatic synchronization with line speed and dose compensation, and accuracy of approximately +/-3% of dose weight. A high-cycle-life pneumatic dosing valve, self-monitoring with alarm outputs, vacuum-jacketed construction for efficient, frost-free operation and automatic CIP protection further support reliable performance in high-speed aseptic packaging environments. The patented system is covered by U.S. Patent No. 12,031,680 B1, with additional patents pending.
