MGS: Dual infeed cartoner

MGS Machine Corporation’s recently updated Eclipse dual infeed cartoner allows both vertical and horizontal collations of flow-wrapped vial cards without requiring two separate packing lines.

Vertical products are collated, picked by a robot, and moved to a shutter drop. Horizontal products are passed to the other side of the infeed bucket and entered into a servo driven “upender.” Groups of upended products are advanced to an overhead sweep mechanism that loads the cartoner buckets.

Overhead compression at load assures the product and inserts are loaded properly into the carton. A Coding Inspection Module (CIM) laser codes the cartons. Reject and verification are provided in this process.

The Eclipse features a "walk-in" style design for ease of operator interface, an HMI, and motion control package. Quick and accurate changeovers are tool-less and can be accomplished in less than 15 minutes.
