FTC24: Flexibility and innovation in pharmaceutical counting

The "solids" area of Marchesini Group confirms the efforts in offering flexible and innovative solutions. The offer is enriched with the double electronic counter FTC24, which alongside the well-known FTC12 model, is currently able to satisfy production requirements of up to 110 vials/minute and 720 thousand tablets/hour.

This highly productive counter produced by the division “Vasquali/Tonazzi” guarantees utmost precision and flexibility at all times. The counting system exploits two units of 12 channels: the vials reach the inlet of the large belt and are sent along two parallel channels through to two filling funnels.

The balance of the components and of the user interface is a fundamental commitment of Marchesini Group, that has always aimed at supplying complete solutions. For this reason, the “custom” version industrial PC, which up-to-date was installed on the FTC12 machines, has been replaced with a Siemens PC677 or Allen Bradley PC.

The adaptability of the electronic counter to the extensive variety of specifications of solid pharmaceuticals (in terms of shape, size, consistency, colour etc.) is now backed by a cutting edge trouble-shooting system that quickly and clearly identifies feasible reading problems. All this is supported by a simple and straightforward program writing procedure, such that even unskilled operators without any specific experience are able to create programs suitable for the type of product/count requested right from word go.

The outstanding standards foreseen enable the machine to totally simplify the program preparation, production control, size changing, cleaning, maintenance and trouble-shooting procedures.

The zone where the product drops has a clear cover so that the operator always has full “visual” control of the transfer phase of the counted product to the relative vial. The trays made of stainless steel AISI316L guarantee utmost compatibility with all products and sanitizing systems.
