This Web-based survey, which drew 129 qualified responses, was conducted on Packworld.com in July 2002. Only responses from packaging end users were tabulated; nonqualified responses (from suppliers or nonpackaging end users) were discarded. Chief industries represented included food, nonfood consumer products, industrial products, and medical/pharmaceutical products. Respondents were most likely to work in engineering, packaging, or plant management, though a mix of others responded. The survey represented a combination of small, medium, and large companies across the U.S., plus a few from overseas. More than 85% identified themselves as regular readers of Packaging World.

Conveying Innovations Report
Editors report on distinguishing characteristics that define each new product and collected video demonstrating the equipment or materials as displayed at the show. This topical report, winnowed from nearly 300 PACK EXPO collective booth visits, represents a categorized, organized account of individual items that were selected based on whether they were deemed to be both new, and truly innovative, based on decades of combined editorial experience in experiencing and evaluating PACK EXPO products.
