Try Easy Omelets, introduced by Nabisco Refrigerated, an operating company of Parsippany, NJ-based Nabisco, Inc. Four varieties reached refrigerated cases in supermarkets in Chicago and five other midwestern markets in the fourth quarter of last year. The paperboard cooking cup contains a foil-lidded polypropylene cup containing real liquid egg product equivalent to two eggs. The paperboard cup's clear lid, apparently made of polystyrene, is a container as well; lidded with foil, it holds shredded cheese and/or ham bits, bell pepper or onion. The consumer is instructed to pour the liquid egg product into the cup, stir in the shredded cheese mix, microwave, and eat. According to business director Nancy Cesari, it's "a major breakthrough in packaged foods." Nabisco is closed-mouthed on material specs and other packaging information. But the bottom of the brightly decorated paperboard cup identifies it as the Thermacup from Sherri Cup (Kensington, CT). Suggested retail price for each 4.9-oz serving is $1.49.
