The Universal Preform Program (UPPs) is a specialized approach developed by Novapak (Barrington, RI). It allows customers to obtain custom-made PET containers quickly and inexpensively because injection mold costs are reduced.

The key is Novapak’s ability to make one preform that it can blow into a variety of shapes within a specific size range. Bottles made from one preform can range from 6 to 12 oz, bottles from another preform can be 16 to 22 oz, and bottles from a third preform can be 24 to 32 oz.
