MP Global Thermal Packaging Products: Thermal envelopes and box liners

Foam-free, eco-smart packaging protects temperature-sensitive payloads.

MP Global Thermal Packaging Products, a division of MP Global Products, makes thermal envelopes and box liners for online storefronts to deliver temperature-sensitive payloads to mail-order customers.

The division’s styrene-free, ultra-insulated thermal envelopes and box liners are engineered for temperature control and protection of a wide range of mail-order shipments, including pharmaceuticals and veterinary medications.

The patented cotton-enhanced insulating materials used in all MP Global’s envelopes and liners offer soft cushioning and thermal protection. The insulating cotton padding uses a select blend of recycled, flocked cotton fibers that are super-absorbent for condensation or accidental spills and contain a time-sensitive, EPA-approved antimicrobial additive to prevent cross contamination. When used with gel packs or other refrigerant, this combination provides the thermal protection necessary for temperature control during shipments.

The cotton materials are completely aerobic and anaerobically biodegradable in less than one year when in the presence of active microorganisms as verified by ASTM D6400 biodegradation testing. The nonwoven cotton insulation fibers in the packaging liners are considered compostable and comply with current Federal Trade Commission’s 2013 Green guidelines. The protective poly film contains a special additive that is designed to attract microbes and thus stimulate biodegradation, thereby allowing the customer to dispose of the packaging as ordinary household trash.

MP Global’s insulated thermal envelopes and box liners are available in variable thicknesses of ultra-insulating padding. The liners can be customized to fit snuggly inside existing shipping containers, saving space on pallets and shelves and minimizing shipping costs.

Name change, too

MP Global recently announced its new name for its thermal products division. The division previously known as ThermoPod Packaging Products is now known as MP Global Thermal Packaging Products. The change is in name only and will affect product labeling, marketing, and online and print advertising. The division’s new Web address is www.ThermoMailer.com.
