Summit Media Group, publisher of Automation World, Packaging World and Healthcare Packaging, is launching a new event to educate manufacturing professionals on automation strategies. The Automation Conference will address topics of interest for engineering and management professionals within discrete manufacturing, continuous and batch processing, and packaging. The two-day conference is being developed with guidance and active participation from content partners at Boeing, Frito-Lay and the Georgia Tech Manufacturing Research Center (MaRC). The Automation Conference will be held May 22-23, 2012 at the Hilton in Rosemont, Illinois.
As producers of the successful Packaging Automation Forum over the past six years, Summit Media Group employed peer-to-peer education through the use of end-users as primary content presenters. The Automation Conference will also engage end-users for content development and presentation in a more comprehensive program. Keynote addresses each morning of the conference will be followed by a series of three concurrent topic track sessions focused on the application of automation in the discrete, process and packaging industries.
Attendees will find a wealth of information on cross-industry concerns such as safety, security, overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), energy management and industrial network configuration, as well as specific vertical issues such as regulations, standards and device/machine integration.
“The Automation Conference is designed to be the learning and networking event for automation professionals involved in engineering, production operations and IT,” comments David Greenfield, Automation World’s Media and Events Director. “From aerospace to automotive, oil and gas to water/wastewater, food and beverage to pharmaceuticals, the common denominator for building tomorrow's efficient and profitable production facility is automation, and The Automation Conference is the only event focused exclusively on this critical area.”
