New search engine simplifies research on Packworld.com

Tabbed search results and speedier infrastructure deliver lightening-fast results in an easy-to-understand way.

Today, Packworld.com rolls out its sixth-generation Web site, featuring brand new tabbed search results. With the new search technology, a year in the making, all packaging machine search results are now grouped under one tab, packaging materials under another, suppliers under another, success stories under another, and so forth.

By segregating the results this way, the search engine allows users to quickly home in on what they're looking for rather than digging through heaps of dissimilar results. Thumbnail photos now accompany the search results, making it even easier to zero in on the item being researched.

The new search software (the same as used by eBay) allows fuzzy word searching and searching within a specific group of results.

The underlying Web server infrastructure has been upgraded with state-of-the-art hardware to give the Web site a much faster, snappier feel.

Users are encouraged to give feedback by filling out the box at the bottom of any search page.
