Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation has designed and engineered the Quick Pack Station to eliminate the typical manual set up of a shallow top load RSC case.

“Our goal was to create innovative equipment that would produce a better box” said Tom Graham General Manager of Smurfit-Stone’s Packaging Systems.

As one of the industry’s leading integrated manufacturers of paperboard and paper-based packaging Smurfit-Stone is dedicated to developing new products and technologies.

The Quick Pack Station surpasses its predecessors in its use of time space labor and materials.

Quick Pack Station Benefits

The Quick Pack Station’s concept has many benefits over the traditional means of using a top load RSC container. Compared to a shallow top load RSC case the Quick Pack’s blank design uses less corrugated material. Because the container is less corrugated in design there is the potential for substantial savings.

The Quick Pack Station requires only a single operator who controls the speed. The erected container is placed directly in front of the operator for ease of product loading. This allocates more time for the operator to pack the product which will either increase production eliminate the resources required to operate the erector or both.

Additionally unlike the pre-glued Knockdown (KD) case the Quick Pack Station’s die cut container is shipped to the customer flat which may allow for more supply cases on the pallet. This means more blanks on an incoming pallet more blanks per truck and less transportation and shipping costs.

The Quick Pack Station’s box design utilizes a box that is 3/8” inch less in depth than the traditional RSC case allowing for reduced pallet height or more layers per pallet. The box also features increased stacking strength thanks to the relocation of the minor flaps from over and under the product to the vertical walls of the container. And as a result of the bottom of the container being solid the package requires 50% less sealing tape. This new concept is ergonomically designed to increase productivity and provide a better value for your package.
