This year’s PACK EXPO East attendees can visit booth 1620 to see Vorne Industries demo an array of edge computing innovations designed to enhance production monitoring and foster digital transformation. Chief among these solutions is the new XL Touch, a unique edge computing device featuring integrated hardware, software, and a readily accessible human-machine interface (HMI) for monitoring and rapidly improving production.

PACK EXPO East takes place February 17 – 19, 2026 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, PA.

“Vorne has supported more than 42,000 successful installations over five dynamic decades, both domestically and internationally,” notes Vice President of Sales Adam Moran. “Our customers range from small contract shops and emerging brands to some of the largest packaging and manufacturing facilities in the world — so we’re committed to delivering innovative tools that promote pristine data capture, focused production floor insights, and effective team collaboration.”

XL Touch is a prime example with its compact 7.75-inch footprint, 7-inch diagonal interactive touchscreen interface, and robust integrated reporting suite. Operators can start and log production events, assign down and reject reasons, and start part runs with the tap of a finger. Featuring multi-touch capacitive technology that is purpose-built for harsh environments, the touchscreen can also be used to view a variety of real-time metrics and production insights directly from the line.

“Customers appreciate Vorne’s integrated XL product family because there’s no software to install, no contracts to sign, no recurring fees, and no user-restrictive licensing,” observes Customer Success Manager Kelsey Loughlin. “In addition to our free software updates, free technical support, and three-year warranty, we’ve also got an array of additional HMI offerings set to debut in early 2026.”

By connecting a smart TV or flat panel to XL Touch or flagship product XL HD, customers display a highly visible plant floor scoreboard that changes context in real time based on production state. The scoreboard also features a colorful chronogram that illustrates shift activity at a glance. This same chronogram format is a popular centerpiece of XL’s highly adaptable reporting suite, which features a total of 60+ built-in reports and nine customizable reporting widgets that can be combined in various ways. This allows users to visualize 140+ metrics and 20+ data dimensions via targeted dashboards that drive informed and immediate action.

XL Touch is engineered with:

·      An advanced HDMI port that outputs at 1080p for enhanced resolution and control

·      A powered USB hub that lets users connect speakers, keyboards, or multiple wireless barcode scanners

·      A Yocto-based Linux operating system designed for today’s embedded and Internet of Things (IoT) devices

·      40 GB of eMMC flash memory, allowing users to store several years’ worth of historical production data

“XL Touch also features a more powerful processing core than any product we’ve offered to date,” adds Moran. “This TI processor actually includes four 64-bit, 1.4 GHz ARM, A-53 cores. It was expressly selected for its ability to support today’s evolving IoT innovations.”
