The primary beneficiaries will be the students enrolled in packaging machinery and packaging programs at universities, community colleges, and trade and technical schools throughout the nation. The foundation will also provide needed resources and expertise to develop new school programs and expand existing ones. The foundation's research arm will sponsor projects designed to benefit the packaging machinery and packaging industries. "Education and training are the keys to the future of the packaging industry," said PMMI Chairman Mark Jacobson of Econocorp in announcing the launch. "Our survival depends on having well-trained individuals." For more information on the new foundation, phone PMMI at 703/243-8555.
