A recent Interesting Engineering article reported on a medical startup that’s disrupting the wound dressing market with an innovative alternative to stitches. The Seattle-based company is called KitoTech Medical, and their product is microMend. It’s intended to replace sutures, staples, surgical glues, adhesive strips for closing tears in the skin’s surface and protecting the wound. The company began selling microMend directly to consumers on Amazon, and just announced the addition of microMend WIDE, intended for larger wounds.
