Mission Foods was looking for a complete product line makeover that would unify two distinctly different consumer groups (general market and Hispanic) through one clear and compelling visual presentation. Axion developed a dynamic brandmark and enhanced the graphics to appeal to both target consumer groups. The final design conveys authenticity, heritage, and taste appeal through an illustration of old mission architecture and a bell tower. The new design was implemented across the full line of fresh corn and flour tortillas, and a broad selection of boxed items in the line. Because of the redesign, Mission Foods reports sales gains of 9.6%. The complete product line is available at major grocery chains nationwide.
Award-winning design solution
A dramatic packaging design solution for the Irving, TX-based Mission Foods line of tortilla products earlier this year helped Axion Design (San Anselmo, CA) win an American Graphic Design Award.
