Pw 9494 Silver Cargo Foundation R

Cargo Cosmetics Corp., Toronto, Ontario, Canada, won a DuPont Silver Award for design and development of sleek, unbreakable, lightweight, flexible pouch packaging for its liquid foundation make-up product.

Specific pouch materials and supplier information have not been divulged. But the 40-mL, bottom-gusseted, stand-up pouch measures approximately 2” W x 4” T and is topped with an opaque plastic nozzle and twist-cap closure. Clear windows on the front and back of the pouch help shoppers make optimum color selections. And the package structure also enables consumers to squeeze out the precise amount of make-up they want, reducing waste. The pouch collapses as it is emptied, facilitating maximum utilization of package contents as well as space-efficient container disposability.

Cargo reports that following the North American market introduction of the new make-up packaging in the Spring of 2005, the company’s liquid foundation sales more than doubled within 9 months.
