Domino Printing Sciences, the global expert in variable data printing solutions, is pleased to announce the opening of its new Print and Apply Knowledge Center. The new state-of-the-art facility has been designed to support Domino’s global customer base – encompassing manufacturers from the food and beverage, pharma, industrial, and logistics sectors – and ensure that Domino can develop products, solutions, and support aligned with individual customer requirements.

Jan Lindgren, Customer Operations and Site Director, Domino Print and Apply, comments on the center’s opening: “Our new Print and Apply Knowledge Center will help us to roll out the latest, most modern developments in print and apply technology, and provide a space for virtual, and face to face, print and apply product testing, training, and education.”

“The global print and apply market is experiencing significant growth which is expected to continue in the coming years, and we recognise that to meet the needs of our customers we must show that we can be a sustainable and trustworthy long-term partner. The best way to do this is to deliver reliable products, alongside great service and support – our new Print and Apply Knowledge Center will allow us to do all this and more.”

Located in Malmö, Sweden, the home of Domino’s print and apply manufacturing center, the Knowledge Center will provide a designated space for print and apply product testing and demonstrations tailored to each customer. As the new hub for Domino’s print and apply activities, the Knowledge Center will also be used for ongoing product development, and to support regional distribution centers with the rollout of Domino’s latest generation print and apply machines, the Mx-Series.

The new facility is equipped with two modular and adjustable conveyor systems, designed to emulate customer production lines for both product and pallet labeling. It also houses Domino’s full range of product and pallet labelers and applicators. For technical customer support, the center features a diverse range of analytical equipment for use alongside conveyor systems for remote troubleshooting and developing production line upgrades and improvements. The center was designed with the flexibility to offer both in-person and virtual visits through live streaming, to ensure accessibility for Domino customers regardless of where they are located.

As well as customer support and development, the Knowledge Centre will provide a space for hands-on training for Domino sales and support staff: ensuring staff are equipped to support the rollout of latest products and services. This includes the development of offerings to support customers in their Industry 4.0 journey, encompassing Domino’s centralized label management and automated deployment software, Domino Automation; remote insight tool, Domino Cloud; and vision inspection, the R-Series.

The center has received positive feedback following initial customer visits, Michael Tausch, Sector Manager – Food and Beverage, Domino Deutschland, comments: “This facility provides us with a great opportunity to showcase our various labeling capabilities to our OEM partners and share in-depth knowledge about different print and apply applications. We have already visited the Knowledge Centre with two of our major OEM partners in Germany, and it was highly appreciated and valuable both for our customers and for us.”

The new Knowledge Center is an example of Domino’s universal approach to expertise and quality assurance in coding and marking, and digital printing. It will sit alongside Domino’s other samples testing facilities in Europe (the UK, Germany, the Netherlands), and also those in the US and China to ensure that customers can find and trust the most appropriate and reliable solution for their requirements wherever they are located globally.

Tony McNulty, Chief Product Officer, Domino Printing Sciences, concludes: “Our new Print and Apply Knowledge Centre is the latest example of our ongoing commitment, and continued investment, in helping our customers achieve their goals. It will ensure that we can continue to develop our expertise and add additional value to our global customer base through solutions focused on customer outcomes.”
