Live at EXPO PACK Mexico: Digital sorting, inspection, is suited to market

Mexico is known for certain produce types, and this combination vibratory conveyor with digital sorting and inspection system is up to the task.

Mexico is a powerhouse for certain types of produce, and some of the larger categories in the market are broccoli, peppers, and lettuce. Such produce tends toward wet and sticky properties.

Because of the prevalence of these kinds of produce in the region, Key Technology is using PACK EXPO Mexico to introduce its VERYTX® Digital Sorting and Inspection Platform, accompanied by the recently reengineered Iso-Flo® vibratory conveyors.

The EXPO PACK show demo VERYTX system was configured for 360 deg coverage of both cameras and lasers for triangulated inspection. The modular platform features chute-fed and belt-fed sorters to meet a variety of specific needs. The machine’s mechanical architecture and sensor technology, specialized electronic sort engine, advanced machine algorithms and rich information capabilities, VERYX takes digital sorting to a new level, according to the company. The company demonstrated a 1.4 m wide system, but systems are available in 1.75 m and greater than 2 m in width depending on the application.

In the demo, the Iso-Flo vibratory conveyors feeds the VERYX over separating screens, adjustable for application and material handled, via an acceleration belt which improves separation.
