The PC-based Vision Integrator Package (VIP) from Fanuc (Rochester Hills, MI) supplies all the parts for an integrator to assemble a custom robotic vision system.

Such a system can be used as the "eyes" of a robot that is loading or unloading pallets, assembling parts, picking and placing product from a conveyor, orienting products in-line, inspecting packaging or doing similar tasks.
