The new CTEU bus node from Festo makes it easy to add Fieldbus connectivity to pneumatic valve terminals. CTEU enables fieldbus connectivity at costs no higher than those for multi-pin solutions. Fieldbus connectivity to valve terminals also significantly reduces installation and engineering costs.

The CTEU bus node inexpensively opens up DeviceNet, CANopen, EtherCat, Profibus, and more to multiple Festo valve terminal models, including MPA-L, VTUB, CPV, VTUG, and VTOC. Since this one bus node serves a number of different valve terminals, it contributes to lower inventory requirements and simplifies logistics.

The CTEU supports inputs and output, is independent of valve terminal size, is easy to replace and upgrade, has separate supply and load voltage for safety applications, and meets Ingress Protection Ratings IP65 and IP67.

A single CETU can also provide fieldbus connectivity to two valve terminals at the same time with the addition of Festo CAPC adapters, allowing a single CETU bus node to be used in small installation systems for even greater wiring and installation savings.

Also, all compatible valve terminals can be directly operated with standard IO-Link masters or the Festo CPX-CTEL master control and information module. The diagnostics functions of the CTEU reduce downtime and machine failure, for example, by identifying under-voltage and short circuits.
