Krones, Inc.: Krones Compact Line Concept

The new Krones Compact Line was in operation at the Krones AG In-house Exhibition held November 10-12, 2003 in Neutraubling, Germany.

This content was written and submitted by the supplier. It has only been modified to comply with this publication’s space and style.

The premise was to design and construct a bottling line for an application with minimal space while optimizing conditions for operator control, maintenance, and start-up.

The Krones Compact Line fills non-returnable PET bottles, packs them in shrink-wrapped packs or trays, and palletizes them on pallets. The line is rated at 25길 bph for 0.5 liter bottles and 24ꯠ bph for 1.5 liter bottles. The crucial link between the machines is the conveyors.

One technical innovation is the newly developed palletizer layer buffer. In the event of a back-up from the palletizer, there is an option to move the entire layer sideways, thus enabling several layers to be buffered as needed.

The Compact Line boasts several advantages. The overall footprint is reduced by 30% and has an optimized layout configuration, allowing the operating staff to be easily deployed to other lines or machines for maximized efficiency. Appropriate line speed control boosts technical efficiency to 92%, and energy consumption is significantly lower due to the reduced amount of conveyors, and their correlated downsized power consumption.

The line can be customized to suit a client’s individual requirements using preset machinery.
