Middle East, Africa sees new product boom...

In 2009, the number of new products launched in the Middle East and Africa grew substantially. According to Mintel, non-alcoholic beverages, sauces and seasoning, baked goods and dairy all had strong numbers. Flexible packaging is still the package of choice for the new products—used for more that twice as many new products as was its next competitor, bottles. What were some of the new products introduced? In Morocco, a pore cleansing face rub; whipping cream in Israel; soap in Saudi Arabia; and toffees in Egypt.
