During the splice cycle, the tape is automatically applied to the back side of the web. The knife cuts the old and new webs simultaneously, which means the expiring web is severed and the leading edge of the new web is trimmed in one motion. Leading edge trim removal is done automatically. The rewind has a 2-spindle turret design that allows easy removal of rewound waste material without stopping process line.
