Brand owners have been a common site walking the halls at PACK EXPO in search of technological advancements that get shorter runs of custom products to shelf faster and more efficiently. One stop in their search undoubtedly has been in the lower East Hall, where Xennia is displaying its Xennia Sapphire inkjet printing system.
It joins Xennia's offerings that allow for just-in-time customized digital package production system, which makes both reduced product inventories and fast market response times possible.
At its booth, Xennia is showcasing its XenJet print engine, fluid control, and print software modules—the key elements of a reliable inkjet system—for use in printing flexible packaging, cartons, and ridge packaging. The Xennia Sapphire inket printing system was put through its paces, demonstrating an example configuration of these modules using Xenlnx Diamond high-performance UV cure ink to print onto multiple packaging surfaces, and also using examples of variable data printing.
"Xennia's industrial inkjet solutions are flexible and economical for short runs, requiring minimal setup time and cost, compared with conventional print," says Alan Hudd, Xennia's managing director. "Xennia's attendance at Pack Expo is providing the opportunity for OEMs to experience these benefits of digital technology, and to understand how to integrate them into their existing systems."
