Nutrex Research, Inc., a sports nutrition company located in Winter Park, FL, uses a combination shrink sleeve/tamper-evident label for its Pro-Gram product. Supplied by Printpack, Inc. (www.printpack.com), the glossy polyvinyl chloride labels are gravure printed in seven colors. Clear sections of each of the labels—Vanilla Bean, Chocolate Mousse, and Strawberry Cream—allow the proprietary silver high-density polyethylene bottle to show through, providing an eye-catching metallic look.

The label covers the bottle from the top of the cap to the bottom of the bottle. It offers a 360-deg image area for graphics, ingredients, bar codes, and other pertinent information.

“Security is critical to the product,” says Seth Reese, operations manager at Nutrex. “So the inclusion of the tamper-evident feature as part of the sleeve made this a perfect label for Nutrex.”

In addition, the TE band also allowed for critical point-of-purchase information to attract consumers. A horizontal perforation allows the band to be removed while the label remains on the container. The strong branding on these attractive labels allowed for a special spring launch on this new product.
