Beginning last September, Korbel Champagne Cellars of Guerneville, CA, changed the labels on its Brut, Extra Dry, Brut Rose and Blanc de Noir champagne bottles to commemorate the last year in this millennium.

varieties.

The labels are 60# paper offset-printed in six colors. They're converted by fp Label (Napa, CA) and cold-glue applied.

Also in recognition of the new millenium, Korbel has unveiled the "world's largest champagne bottle." This 4' 6" bottle is 160 times the size of a standard Korbel champagne

bottle, holds 92.47-gal of champagne and weighs 350-lb full. The bottle was hand-blown in Lauscha, Germany, and began touring the country January 5 in San Francisco.

As the bottle travels throughout the country, Korbel will host "practice parties" in various cities. Some of the stops include Las Vegas, Atlanta, Chicago, Boston and finally New York. "We've been developing our millenuim plans for over four years," says Korbel president and chairman Gary Heck. "The release of the new packaging marks the beginning of a very exciting year."
