National mail-back program for EPS packaging

The Alliance of Foam Packaging Recyclers (AFPR) announced the expansion of its national Mail-Back Program for expanded polystyrene (EPS) packaging.

This program provides a mail-back recycling opportunity for the public since EPS transport packaging—used to protect electronics, pharmaceuticals, and fragile items during shipment—is not recycled in every community.

The program has expanded to more than 30 locations across the country, making it more cost-effective to return EPS for recycling. Individuals, companies, and organizations—including hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, schools, and college research facilities—make use of this program.

Only clean EPS packaging, marked #6, is accepted. Foodservice packaging, EPS glued to cardboard, or other white foam plastics are not accepted. For more information on EPS recycling, go to www.epspackaging.org.
