The unbreakable, recyclable Heat-Tek bottles are suitable for juices, teas, sports drinks, enriched waters, or any other beverages filled at 185°F.
Elations needed a heat-set bottle that could run successfully on a high-speed hot-filling line at contract packer Krier Foods, Random Lake, WI (920/994-2469). Krier uses an 80-valve filler from U.S. Bottlers (www.usbottlers.com), a 24-head Fowler/Zalkin rotary capper from Fowler Products Co. (www.fowler products.com), and a cut-and-stack, 30-station labeler from Krones, Inc. (www.kronesusa.com). The line runs at approximately 700 bpm.
Ball Corp. modified its stock 8-oz Heat-Tek bottles to meet the demands of the high-speed Krier line and was able to do this on an accelerated development schedule to accommodate Elations’ product launch target date.
The dietary supplement drinks contain glucosamine, chondroitin, and calcium to benefit healthier joints and bones. Elations’ marketing director Mike Burton comments, “Our research shows that many people want healthier joints to continue their active lives, even as they get older. Now people can get those benefits from these attractive, portable little bottles of a refreshing, great-tasting drink that can be part of their daily routine, rather than from unpleasant pills that they dread taking.”
The Elations beverages are available in two flavors—raspberry white grape and cranberry apple. The bottles are sold in six-packs and individually.
