PMMI announces 2003 board additions & executive officers

The Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute, Arlington, VA, announced four new Board of Director appointments and its executive committee for 2003.

The following individuals have been elected to four-year terms on the Board of Directors:

• John Raterman, vp North American sales, Nordson Corp., Duluth, GA. Nordson joined PMMI in 1969. Raterman has served on the Institute's Education & Workforce Development Committee.

• Glenn Siegele, president, Omega Design Corp., Exton, PA. Omega joined PMMI in 1976. Siegele has served on the Institute's Statistics and Surveys Committee, and will be its chairman for 2003-2004.

• Randy Spahr, vp, Packaging Machines International, Inc., Elk Grove, IL. PMI joined PMMI in 1995. Spahr has served on the Institute's Education & Workforce Development Committee and currently sits on the Show Committee.

• Andrew Zucaro, president, AZCO Corp., Fairfield, NJ. AZCO Corp. joined PMMI in 1998. Zucaro has served on the Education & Workforce Development Committee and the Membership Committee.

This year's slate of nominees were voted on the Board of Directors by the members of PMMI in attendance at the Institute's fall meeting, held September 17-20 in Washington, DC. Their respective terms begin on January 1, 2003. The individuals were chosen because of leadership on PMMI committees, active participation in a wide variety of PMMI programs and services, and because they reflect the diversity of PMMI membership.

On September 17, 2002, during its annual meeting, the PMMI Board of Directors voted to elect the following individuals to serve on the Institute's Executive Committee during 2003:

• Chairman: Rocky Marquis, president, MARQ Packaging Systems, Inc., Yakima, WA.

• Vice Chairman: Glen Long, president, Inex Vision Systems, Clearwater, FL.

• Past Chairman: Mel Bahr, CEO, MGS Machine Corp., Maple Grove, MN.

• President: Charles D. Yuska, president, PMMI of Arlington, VA.

"The board of directors and executive committee look forward to working together on programs and services that meet the needs of our members and the industry at large," said Charles D. Yuska, president of PMMI. "These leaders will play an integral role in developing PMMI's future direction as PMMI's continues to meet its vision of being the global resource for packaging."
