DuPont Packaging: Breathable shrink film overwraps

A new shrink film based on highly permeable Clysar® shrink film from DuPont (Wilmington, DE) is a heat sealable polyolefin film that is able to compete with PVC in terms of breathability.

Suitable for the food and nonfood sectors, film is designed for use with sharp-edged, confectionery, and meat products. For example, individual meat portions can be packed in the low-barrier Clysar and then sealed in a tougher, outer barrier pack for transport to the retailer. As soon as the outer pack is removed in the supermarket, the meat portions are oxygenated and take on a fresh red color.
