Anti-counterfeiting workshop held last month in Ghana. . .

In May, law enforcement agencies attended an anti-counterfeiting workshop in Accra, Ghana. Organized by the Institute of Packaging, and in collaboration with other agencies in Ghana, the workshop was held to educate law enforcement officers on how to identify counterfeit products, including antibiotics, contraceptives, and weight-loss drugs. Many consumers in Ghana are unaware that counterfeit and pirated goods are on the market, and quality packaging and labeling make it difficult for consumers to tell the fake from the real thing, according to a spokesperson.
