Has pop's bubble burst?

Sales of Coke, Pepsi and other carbonated, sugar-sweetened beverages have slumped worldwide, according to several indicators.

d.co In Greece Coca-Cola Hellenic's May sales were well below estimates—profits rose 5%, not the expected 12-15%. Fuel prices, and resulting higher food prices, affected consumer spending most severely in Italy, Ukraine and Romania, according to the company. In the UK, Pepsi, Tango, and other "sugary, fizzy drinks" have had slowing demand. Healthier food choices are the culprit. A Britvac spokesperson issued a "profit warning" but added that no-added sugar carbonates have not slowed.
