Digital printing reported as hottest trend

Digital printing for label, folding carton, and flexible packaging applications represents the leading growth category among all printing and decorating technologies according to Digital Printing for Packaging Graphics, a report published by Packaging Strategies/BRG Townsend.

Digital printing for these applications is projected to achieve 20% compound annual growth rate through 2007, according to the 95-page report. It includes an appendix of key technology, lists of consumable materials, and digital printing industry service providers. The report is written by Alex Hamilton, president of Computers in Communications Consulting, and Mary Ellen Reis, president of Packnology.

According to Packaging Strategies, this autumn marks the 10th anniversary of the commercial introduction of digital press technology for printing and packaging graphics. The report is available in hard cover for $3귔 $500 for additional copies. It’s also available in PDF format for $4ꯠ. Those costs exclude shipping and handling charges.
