LIVE FROM Pharma EXPO: Compliance Lifecycle and TCO

Serialization is a program, not a process, says Innovation Stage speaker.

When it comes to implementing serialization in your organization, a distinction must be made between the initial investment and the complete cost over the program’s lifecycle. So says Eric Bronander, Senior Director of Sales, Americas, for Adents Americas.

Bronander made his comments during an Innovation Stage presentation entitled, “Compliance Life Cycle Management and Total Cost of Ownership,” during Pharma EXPO.

Bronander made the distinction of “Program vs Project” because, as he pointed out, “A project ends eventually. A program is ongoing.

“We find the effort of cost control is spent ensuring the program implementation phase is performed at the lowest cost possible with little regard to overall cost of the system throughout its lifecycle,” he said.

What can trigger ongoing costs for serialization? Mexico and Canada have not yet committed to regulations, for one thing. Countries such as Brazil have made modifications. Trading partners come and go. All these things require updating to a company’s serialization program.
