Grip switches, often referred to as “Dead man” switches, are a critical part of machine safety required by companies in order to provide a safe working environment for maintenance or trouble-shooting inside a machine guard. Depending on a user’s needs, HE2G grip switches can be equipped with additional control units such as an E-stop, indicator light, momentary pushbutton, and/or key selector switch, providing a wide selection of options.

Designed to fit in a user’s hand, the three-position IDEC HE2G grip switch features a curved ergonomic grip providing a comfortable handhold while allowing for a lighter operating force. This ensures stress-free operation every time.

The HE2G grip switch has three positions, ON-OFF-ON. It allows machine operation only when the switch is actuated by lightly squeezing the grip and held in the middle position (position 2). To ensure the safety of the operator, machine operation is disabled when the switch is released (position 1) or upon further depression (position 3) by a panicked operator. Tactile clicking feedback allows the operator to easily distinguish when shifting between positions.

New IDEC HE2G grip switches are a critical part of machine safety. All HE2G grip switches are UL recognized, CE marked and have an IP67 degree of protection.
