CCL Label provides multi-color and multi-layer RFID labels and package inserts with virtually any type of RFID inlay, to produce a reader/writer that is suitable for wide-scale deployment within pharmacies. RFID tags can store up to 1,000 user bits of information. This information can be written to the tag, and changed/deleted as required. CCL Label integrates these tags into pressure sensitive labels and tags. HIGH FREQUENCY In HF systems, the magnetic field powers up an RFID tag through a process known as induction. A magnetic field is created as a result of electrical current flow in a closed loop of electrically conductive material, such as copper tape, acting as an antenna. The magnetic field induces an electric current flowing on the antenna of an RFID tag that is within the magnetic field. This induced electric current is then used to power the RFID tag’s circuitry, enabling the interpretation of and response to commands sent to it from a reader. ULTRA HIGH FREQUENCY In UHF systems the electric field powers up tan RFID tag that enters an area within this field of energy. The power of the electric field is used for the RFID tag’s circuitry in similarity to what occurs with HF tags, but using capacitive coupling.
