DIY Group to expand operations

DIY Group Inc. (www.diygroup.com), a contract packager in Muncie, IN, is nearing completion on a 126,000-sq-ft expansion project. The $2.25 million expansion will put an addition onto the company’s existing 432,000-sq-ft facility, making DIY’s facility one of the largest contract packaging operations in the Midwest.

“We have added several large customers, plus others continue to require additional services,” says Denny Durham, DIY president and founder.

Durham adds that DIY’s growth stems from the emergence of nearby Indianapolis as a major distribution hub. Muncie is 35 minutes northeast of Indianapolis.

“We work with companies with headquarters and manufacturing facilities all over the world because they have distribution centers in or around Indianapolis,” he says.

DIY, established in 1983, packs bulk product into a variety of retail-ready packages, including blisters, clamshells, shrink wrap, and point-of-purchase displays.
