To help consumer goods companies and contract packagers achieve good matches, the Contract Packaging Association is developing certification metrics that will facilitate quicker and easier selection of contract packaging partners.
These proposed metrics will include measuring capacity, flexibility, management structure, fill rates, communication matrix, financial stability, technology, systems integrity, inventory accuracy, sanitation, engineering, historical performance, and culture.
The certification process will allow for selections to be made from a listing of prescreened and qualified partners.
