Video shows sophisticated warehouse system for automating mixed pallet creation

Hartness Vertique warehouse system shows how incoming homogeneous pallets are automatically converted to mixed pallets based on specific customer orders.

Video shows a sophisticated Hartness Vertique warehouse system that consists of depalletizing, storage, route picking, EDI ordering, and automated mixing of cases to form mixed pallets for specific stores and routes. In the video, homogenous pallets are fed into an automatic infeed. The system depalletizes the pallets and routes cases or trays of product into computer-controlled vertical holding towers, which reduce storage space requirements. When an order is received, the towers release the appropriate cases or trays of various of product into a mixing center. The mixing center consists of a series of conveyors that combine the appropriate cases or trays of product, and feeds them to an automated palletizing system. Mixed pallets are built, stretchwrapped and labeled. The software handles Advanced Ship Notice (ASN) as well and is compatible with all standard order processing and truck routing software.
