Ultipack’s void containment is provided by a flexible corrugated wedge that is automatically inserted into the filled tray, securely containing and protecting the items and eliminating the need for void fill material. Since the wedge is typically half the cost of void fill material and the lidded tray delivers a durable shipping container, the system reduces costs without compromising packaging performance.
In the 3-step Ultipack process corrugated trays of any size are formed in the Tray Forming Module and fed into the picking line. Once filled, trays are conveyed to the Wedging Module, where a corrugated wedge is automatically inserted and secured around the tray's contents. Trays are then conveyed to the Lidding Module, where a lid is automatically placed and glued.
Ultipack also provides consumers with an attractive, easy opening, and curbside-recyclable package.
The system can be integrated with all ERP/WMS system software and any warehouse equipment, including conveyors, printers, scales, and sorters. The system can also operate in stand-
alone mode.
