Beverage cans already stand out as a versatile packaging format. When paired with resealable ends the opportunities are expanded. Top Cap Holding GmbH is aiming to secure this advantage in the long term: with the global license acquisition of the ‘SpinClip’ resealable beverage can end, the company is expanding its portfolio and defining its strategic course.
Sept. 10 the Managing Directors of Top Cap Holding GmbH and IMV Innovation Marketing and Vertriebs GmbH signed a licensing agreement that gives Top Cap Holding exclusive use of the ‘SpinClip’ technology in its target markets. Based on rivet-spinner technology, ‘SpinClip’ expands Top Cap’s portfolio, which already includes ‘the click cap’, an innovative, scalable and cost-effective resealable end for beverage cans. The company plans to begin series production of ‘the click cap’ in 2026.
“The acquisition of the global licence is a strategic milestone for Top Cap Holding. By expanding our product portfolio, we are positioning ourselves as a leading innovative supplier of advanced, resealable beverage can ends for many different beverage segments,” says Robert Jansen, CEO of Top Cap Holding. In this context, Top Cap will develop the ‘SpinClip’ into a market-ready product, building on its many years of experience in the development of ‘the click cap’.
The resealable beverage can fulfils a real consumer need: 76% of consumers say they prefer a resealable beverage can to a standard one. Resealable beverage cans also protect filled products from accidental spillage, insects and drink spiking. Both ‘the click cap’ and the ‘SpinClip’ deliver a drinking experience that is safe, enjoyable and worry-free.
