Market Resource Packaging announced a new name to reflect its new vision and expanded capabilities: Coregistics. The announcement follows the company's purchase by IAM Acquisition, led by Eric Wilhelm, previously founder of the co-packing firm Wilpak. Wilhelm said "we reassembled the majority of the Wilpak leadership team to further complement the original Market Resource Packaging Team. Together we are a more powerful company and our uniquely consolidated approach, which is aimed at the very ‘core’ of our customers' business, is bigger than traditional packaging or logistics services."
With more than 1 million sq. ft. Coregistics now offers a broader range of high-volume, time-sensitive primary packaging, secondary packaging and logistics services. Retail packaging options include shrink wrap, shrink sleeve, bundle wrap, vertical bagging, cartoning/kitting and assembly. Promotional packages span value packs, variety packs, on-packs, BOGOs (or "buy one/get ones") and club-store packs.
The company, headquartered in Atlanta, has facilities there as well as in New Jersey, Tennessee and Indiana with a number of additional embedded operations at customer sites nationwide. Industries served include consumer goods, pharmaceutical, personal care, food, electronics and automotive.
In a news report following IAM's acquisition, Joe Jaruszewski, president and cofounder of Market Resource Packaging and current president of the Contract Packaging Association, joined Wilhelm in hailing the new, combined vision for "simply perfect customer solutions," adding that the merger was just the "first in a number of exciting announcements in the coming weeks.”
Industry watchers mindful of that statement might have seen the new name coming. Now, attentions turn to the rest of Jaruszewski's hinted-at announcements.
