Thermo Fisher Scientific: Metal detector

Thermo Fisher Scientific launches the Sentinel multi-scan metal detector featuring five simultaneous frequencies from 50 to 1000 kHz. Unit is capable of finding ferrous, non-ferrous, and stainless steel metal contaminants in applications such as dairy, meat, poultry, bread, and other foods with high product effect.

According to Bob Ries, lead product manager, metal detection and X-ray inspection for Thermo Fisher, “The recent introduction of multi-scan technology marked an important breakthrough in multi-frequency metal detection innovation for the food packaging industry,” Ries said. “For decades, food manufacturers compromised by using single-frequency or dual-frequency metal detectors. Multiscan is the equivalent of running five metal detectors in a row, all scanning for different metal contaminants, raising the probability of finding metal objects and keeping consumers safer than they could before.”
