SICK, Inc: Color detection sensor

The CSM 1 color sensor from Sick, Inc. (Minneapolis, MN) is an extremely small sensor for packaging uses in which materials and containers are identified, sorted and inspected on the basis of color.

The three color—red, green and blue—transmitter results in a reflectivity value evaluated by the sensor’s microprocessor with regard to spectral color distribution, saturation, and brightness. Uses include packaging inspection, presence detection, position determination, detecting registration mark, and placement of caps and closures.
