Willett America (Fort Worth, TX) and SIG Positec Automation (Plymouth, MI) have combined their efforts to produce a traversing motion control system for ink-jet coding.

The traversing system includes the Willett 460Si small-character ink-jet printer, which can produce up to four lines onto virtually any surface. The SIG system uses stepper-motor technology to provide high-speed print position accuracy to within 0.01" at a rate of 6'/sec.
