Sigpack Systems Div., a Bosch Packaging Technology Co.: Row alignment system

SIG Pack (Raleigh, NC) uses the physics of ocean waves in the operation of its DMY Marshalling Yard, which arranges small, light, flat food products such as cookies and crackers into straight rows as they are conveyed to packing stations.

The DMY is constructed of a series of rollers that turn at varying speeds--creating 4 zones, each with a "wave crest" and a "trough"--to accelerate or decelerate products as necessary to collect them in rows and also space the rows appropriately.
