Joint Venture Supports Clemson's Rfid Efforts

Printpack, Inc. (www.printpack.com) and MSA Systems, Inc. (www.msasys.com) announced a joint venture to install RFID reading and measurement equipment in a new lab at Clemson University's Packaging Science Department.

Printpack donated the equipment to the lab for student training and industry research. Printpack, supported by warehousing and distribution automation integrator MSA Systems, is funding research at Clemson for defining RFID tracking systems and for printed RFID components using traditional printing methods. The first student project will focus on a stress test for RFID tags. Both companies will support projects in the Packaging Science and the Graphic Communications departments.
