Placon has developed and launched its EcoStar clear sealable PET, which contains a minimum 25% post consumer recycled PET. Some of the benefits of this new material include excellent thermoforming properties, precise gauge control, faster seal times at lower temperatures, and can be sealed to uncoated cardstock.
Typical applications include consumer packaging, health and beauty, consumer electronics and hardware. The new material can be run on existing equipment and can be sealed using conventional heat sealing (plastic to plastic and plastic to coated and uncoated cardstock), radio frequency, ultrasonic, and UV.
